#29: Prof. Nandaa on Computing, Convictions and Consistency
In this episode the host duo and the guest jovially get into the trenches that built the brilliant software engineer Anthony Nandaa aka Prof. They take it back to his coming to Nairobi from the village in his lecturer suit and take it forward to his current passions, positions and pursuits around computing and beyond. They talk; breakdowns and breakthroughs, fallacies and benefits of tunnel vision, ambition and expectations. Prof shares lessons from UNI days and experiences that he holds onto to date, learning and unlearning through the student to lecturer journey, C4D, friendships, focus, distractions, resignations and so on. Walking the duo through his career journey they pick gems from his leadership, entrepreneurship and mentorship hats, making for a great listen - highlighting lessons and signposts to success in computer science and life. The episode sweetly spills into stories around Nandaa’s other passions such as jazz and the bass guitar, also sharing stories from his childhood, church, fatherhood, forests, hills, writing, coding, how he met his wife, ‘assuming you are not Mark Zuckerberg’, the quarry workers creed, faith and so much more!
